A family-run appliance company from Harlow. Since 2006 we've grown into twelve engineers on the road across Essex, Hertfordshire and London, with an office team who pick up the phone.
Who we are
Started at a kitchen table in Harlow
Spin Doctor was started in 2006 by Nicola and Scott, fixing washing machines for neighbours and letting agents around Harlow. Twenty years on it's still family-run, still based in Harlow, and still built on the same idea: turn up when you said you would, fix it properly, and tell people the truth about whether it's worth fixing at all.
Today that's twelve engineers, two dedicated installers, a shop with new appliances in stock, and more than 70,000 completed jobs.

A real office, real people
Four people in our Harlow office answer the phones directly for Spin Doctor. They know the engineers, the diary and the common faults, so most questions get answered on the first call and most bookings are made in a couple of minutes.
Engineers in every area
Our engineers live across Essex, Hertfordshire and London rather than driving out from one depot. That's why same-day and next-day visits are realistic, and why the person who arrives usually knows your town.
One fee, quoted upfront
The labour fee depends on where you are, not what's wrong, and you see it before you book. Parts are priced before they're fitted, and if it's not worth repairing we'll say so before any work is done.
Stocked vans, fixed first time
Every van carries the parts that fail most often for the brands we see most, so the large majority of repairs are finished on the first visit. If a part has to be ordered, we come back to fit it at no extra labour charge.
Repairs, sales and installation under one roof
If a machine is beyond economical repair, we can supply a replacement from stock, deliver it, install it and take the old one away, often the same or next day, by the same team.
Honest about what we don't do
We repair domestic electric appliances only: no gas, no commercial kitchens, no small appliances. If your job isn't one we'd do well, we'll tell you who to call instead.
